ORGAN SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS
For Students in Grades 7-12 and Adult Students not currently enrolled in a collegiate organ program. 
SPONSORED BY THE AMERICAN GUILD OF ORGANISTS – TOLEDO CHAPTER

General Scholarship amounts to be given.
All awards are given at the discretion of the judges.
 
Scholarship monies are to be used for organ lessons from a member of the Toledo AGO and will be made payable to the student’s instructor. Students who have previously been awarded a scholarship should have completed all previous year scholarship lessons before applying.

The Mary Anderson Award is given to the top high school qualifier
and can only be received once by the same person.

Applicant Requirements
Each applicant will prepare a solo piece of music which demonstrates their current ability level (limited to 10 minutes) and a hymn of their choice. Students auditioning for the first time may play their audition on the piano. Up to 1 hour of practice time will be scheduled for each student. Please contact Kathy Mumy (kmumy@joanofarc.org) to schedule your practice time.

Each applicant must complete and submit the attached form and a letter of recommendation from their private instructor, pastor, or church musician.
Application and letter of referral must be mailed (or emailed) by October 8 to:

Choral Techniques for Church Choirs with Dr. Micah Bland, University of Toledo
Park Congregational Church, 1456 Harvard Blvd. Toledo
Sarah Wade, host
In this workshop Dr. Bland will address techniques for developing the vocal abilities of church musicians, with special emphasis placed on caring for the maturing voice.   The workshop will significantly feature interactive opportunities including vocal exercises that promote vocal health and tone development, rehearsal strategies that reinforce correct vocal technique, and score study techniques that identify potential vocal challenges in the music.
